So, I am dying to know what your opinions were of Fever 1793.  Did you like it? What didn't you like?  Did you learn anything?  What are some pros and cons (good and bad things) about doing a class read aloud?  Anything you would change?

Please be clear and please give me as much imput as possible!

Thanks,

Mrs. Singer

P.S. I felt it went really well and was a different experience for most of you.  I liked that Fever 1793 presented information on our nation's history and you could visualize different scenes.  Overall I felt like most of you enjoyed Fever 1793.  I didn't like that some of you zoned out.  Next time I would add guiding questions because it could help you guys follow along and get the basics.

I think that this story is worthless to read. That is if you like people dying every 2 and 1/2 minutes. The olny part i like was when Mattie and her Grandpa got home and then they got robbed after some time. Mattie is very loving and takes care of everyone you comes in her way.

I liked the parts that had more action. I didn't like it when it really had nothing going on. I learned that there was a fever called,Yellow Fever. The good things about reading aloud is that we get relaxation time. The bad part is that you odn't know if everyone is following along or not until u ask questions. I don't think I would really wanna change anything. I like learning about Yellow Fever!

I loved Fever 1793! I thought it was a really good book! I learned about the Yellow fever and sideaffects of it. I liked reading out loud because I didnt have to read it. The bad thig is that you never know if someone is paying attention or not. I would have it so we read everyday not every other day beacuse i really liked the book from beging to end.

I really liked it because it was really cool. I learned that fever victim's eyes turn yellow when they get the fever. The good thing about reading aloud is that every one heard the story. The bad thing is that you can't call on the kids not paying attention.I would change (in the book) the dying thing it seemed like every other page some one died.

I really liked Fever 1793! I liked that it had a lot of suspense or cliff hangers in it. Something that i didnt really like about the book was that there was a lot of dieing. Well, I did learn that yellow fever was very harsh to people, because they had had a very hard time living through it. Me personally I don't really like reading aloud. I don't like reading aloud because then i can never remember anything. But if i look at something that we are reading then i will be able to remembner something. Something that I would change in the book is that I would have less dieing. It was sad because of everyone dieing!

I think fever 1793 is awsome. It had some sad parts some happy parts. One sad part is when granfather dies.one of the happy part is when Matties mom comes back to the coffee shop.I liked the part when granfather fights the burglars.Things that were good about reading out loud was that it was that we didnt have to go in our reading book. One bad thing is that some people talk when Mrs.Singer was reading i could not her.

I like the story very much. I was an interesting story and i had never read one like that .So it was a new experience for me i liked how the story told me like what was happening and what was going on. I lerned that it was based on a true story like the cook coffee house and the peals house, so i lerned that. I lkied that we did the class read aloud and i would like to do it again.

Yes I did like fever 1793.I learned how to tell when a strime is near by. The good thing about a class read outloud is every one gets to hear it. Some bad things about a class read outloud is that the reader gets tired of reading. No their is nothing I would change.

I liked Fever 1793 a lot. I didn't like the beginning of the book. I learned that you can bleed people. I wouldn't change anything from the book.

I like fever 1793 because,it is a happy ending. What i did not like from fever 1793 is that a lot of people died. What i learned from fever 1793 is that sick ness can spread easyily.what i would change from fever 1793 is that i would not of had grandpa get killed.

I really liked Fever 1793! I didn't like that alot of people died. I learned that there is such a thing as yellow fever. I liked that we read the book outloud because i don't like reading books by myself. The thing I would change the most is in Fever 1793 it should not end like that the person who wrote the stroy should not make us wonder like that. Why does everyone hve to die. That made me sad that the little kids almost died because of the fever I mean why the little kids.
